Some say Desiderius Erasmus said this or perhaps Carl Jung popularized it. But whoever coined it first – I love the eternal truth of it. and it’s even fun to say it in Latin: “Vocatus atque non vocatus deus aderit.” It also reminds me of the quote by Richard Rohr:
“We cannot attain the presence of God because we’re already totally in the presence of God. What’s absent is awareness.”
